Visitors from more than 100 countries and territories can enter Oman without a visa for stays of up to 14 days, provided they meet conditions published by the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Citizens of the other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states do not need a visa at all.

Who Qualifies

Most of the eligible countries qualify on nationality alone. For a second group of countries, the ministry sets an extra requirement: their citizens must either be residents of, or hold a valid entry visa for, the United States, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, a Schengen Agreement country or Japan. Alternatively, they qualify if they are residents of a GCC state and their profession is among those that benefit from the GCC resident visa.

A visitor's husband or wife and children benefit from the exemption when travelling with them, even if they do not hold the nationality of an eligible country.

Documents Travellers Must Carry

Every visitor entering under the visa-free scheme must hold a passport valid for at least six months. Travellers must also have a return ticket, a confirmed hotel booking, health insurance and enough money to cover their living costs during the stay.

Length of Stay

The stay is limited to 14 days. It cannot be extended or converted into any type of residence visa. Travellers who do not qualify can check their options and apply through the Royal Oman Police eVisa website.
