The centre's establishment represents a strategic move by the association to significantly enhance sports participation and broaden development opportunities specifically tailored for girls in Muscat. This dedicated facility is designed to serve as a key hub for nurturing emerging talent, providing a structured environment for young athletes to thrive and develop their potential in track and field disciplines.

Selection Process Details

The centre’s activation followed a rigorous, two-phase selection program meticulously designed to identify promising young athletes from across Muscat Governorate. This full selection process ensured a wide net was cast to discover talent. Both initial and subsequent selection phases incorporated students from a diverse range of educational institutions, specifically public and private schools located within Muscat Governorate. This inclusive approach aimed to reach as many potential athletes as possible, ensuring equitable access to the development program. The initial phase of this strong program led to the successful selection of 50 students, who were drawn from a substantial pool of participants representing a total of 12 participating schools. This was followed by a second, more focused phase, which further narrowed the selection pool based on refined criteria and performance assessments. From this subsequent stage, a highly talented group of 15 students was chosen from 4 schools, thereby completing the final roster for the new development centre. The full and multi-stage approach showed the association's commitment to ensuring broad participation across the educational landscape of Muscat while identifying the most dedicated and promising young athletes.
